Infinity Engine Modding News: SHS: aTweaks v3.04 Released

Spellhold Studios

Though it has been available for a while, aTweaks has now officially joined the SHS lineup of mods!

QUOTE

This mod represents a compilation of PnP related tweaks and various house rules which are designed to bring more consistency to the gameplay. It works on normal Baldur's Gate II games as well as either of the two Baldur's Gate conversion projects: (Easy)Tutu and Baldur's Gate Trilogy (BGT).

In summary, aTweaks can bring several classes, races, spells, items and creatures closer to their PnP counterparts, add more consistency to the gameplay by making sensible rule adjustments and eliminating exploits, and make it easier to distinguish between creatures with similar avatars through the use of recoloring techniques.

The mod is divided into multiple components all of which can be installed separately and are completely independent of each other. More detailed descriptions of all components can be found in the readme.

aTweaks has been updated to v3.04. In summary, this maintenance release slightly revises the Scribe Scrolls ability, updates the Italian translation as well as the Forum and Homepage links in the readme. Here's the full list of changes:

New in v3.04:

The Scribe Scrolls ability has been slightly revised. Inscribing a scroll now removes one instance of the spell in question from the caster's memory (i.e. just like casting the spell regularly would)

Updated the Italian translation

Updated forum and homepage links

Related links

Download location

Readme

Discussion forum

Screenshot gallery

Infinity Engine Modding News: G3: Version 13 of SCS II Available

Like its Tutu predecessor, SCS II is mostly a tactics mod, intended to make the combats in the game more challenging and interesting. Overall, playing SCS II shouldn't exactly feel like a whole new game - it should feel like the old game, but with your foes acting much more intelligently and realistically. Version 13 of SCS II fixes a number of bugs and compatibility problems, optimises existing components, and adds a small amount of new content.

Relevant links:

Download

Forum

Project Page

Readme

Infinity Engine Modding News: G3: Version 14 of SCS Available

SCS is primarily a tactical mod for Tutu and Baldur's Gate Trilogy. The idea is to make the game rather more tactically challenging, rather than just making it harder by brute-force methods like tripling all the damage rolls. It also contains a few rule tweaks and ease-of-use features. v14 fixes all currently-known bugs in previous versions and optimises a few tactical features.

Relevant links:

Download

Forum

Project Page

Readme

Infinity Engine Modding News: CoM: The Undying 2.06 Released

The Undying version 2.05 has been released with a few changes and fixes. This is most likely the last of the version "2" releases.

The Undying is a WeiDU-based mod for Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal. This mod adds two new NPCs who will join your party, Callisto T'sarran and Ninafer.

Callisto is a Chaotic Evil elven berserker fighter with a tragic past. She has a hatred towards the world in general and an undying hate towards those who destroyed her life when she was young. Nothing will stand in her way to exact bloody revenge on those who wronged her.

Ninafer is a Lawful Neutral elven fighter/mage who is trying to find her way in the world of Toril. She's your typical thrill seeking adventurer who is bored with the home life.

This mod also includes new encounters, which is part of Callisto's Quest to find those who wronged her in the past, new items are added, seven new stores, many banters and interjections and three minor quests. Ninafer will flirt around with Anomen if he and your female character is not romancing each other. Their relationship continues into Throne of Bhaal. As usual, The Undying should be compatible with most other WeiDu-based mods, and should be installed after all official patches.

Website
Forums
Download Locations

Homeward Bound, v4: Send Them Home from Brynnlaw

Homeward Bound gives the PC the opportunity to send BioWare companions home from the Pocket Plane, and now, from Brynnlaw. Companions sent home from the Pocket Plane can be re-summoned through speaking to the Fate Spirit and those sent home from the Pocket Plane can be recruited again once the party returns to the mainland. An optional feature restores the romances broken due to separation caused by sending them home. Version 4 also adds a new merchant to Brynnlaw, who will sell the party some useful (or not-so-useful, but hopefully entertaining) equipment.

Forum
Download for Windows
Download for Mac OSX

For v2.31, the bigg fixed a bug that prevented uninstalling, and repaired an issue in PST/BG1 that sometimes caused artifacts on areas (notably Mebbeth's house at 800x600).

Please Note: On BG1 and PST, upgrade is *not* compatible with save games created with Widescreen 2.30 or earlier (or created without Widescreen). Players of BG1 and PST who do not have save games they are interested in are recommended to upgrade. Players of any game who have troubles uninstalling Widescreen 2.30 can simply extract the Widescreen 2.31 archive to fix the problem. The Widescreen Mod is available for Windows and Linux.

Relevant links:

Download

Forum

Project Page

Readme (english)

Readme (french)

Readme (spanish)
