Getting NWN 1 or 2 onto my Mac

I am looking to install NWN on the Mac. With NWN, the installer fails, it looks like a threading error in the X-Windows code. I need to bug this somewhere in the winehq domain. It seems that the advice is to copy a windows install and that WINE will then run the game. There is an active bioware MAC forum. I have installed and upgraded NWN2. I have an error when I run the game, which is a missing resources error, so I expect winetricks to fix this. However winetricks requires cabextract, and that requires Macport. So I need to find enough time to sort these out. At this point, I stopped playing "Sysadmin" and booted up the game on one of my Windows boxes.
